Investment bank Goldman Sachs has revised its growth forecasts upward for chipmakers in the face of “strong” demand, and reiterated its buy ratings on three stocks.

대만 반도체 제조 기업(영어: Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, Limited 줄여서 TSMC, 중국어: 台灣積體電路製造公司)은 대만의 반도체 파운드리(제조하는 기업)이다. 세계에서 가장 큰 반도체 제조 기업이다.
TSMC는 다양한 웨이퍼 생산라인(고전압, 혼합신호, 아날로그)을 제공할 뿐만 아니라, 논리 생산라인에서 최고로 알려져 있다. ATI 테크놀로지스, 브로드컴, 코넥산트, 마벨, 엔비디아와, VIA 테크놀로지스같은 다수의 팹리스 첨단기술 회사는 TSMC의 고객이다.
또한 미국의 자회사로 웨이퍼테크(WaferTech Limited Liability Company)라는 또다른 팹리스 업체를 두고 있다.
LSI 로직라고 불리는, 반도체 회사에서는, 주문형 반도체 설계 서비스와 설계 IP-포토폴리오를 통하여 TSMC 웨이퍼를 재판매한다.

유나이티드 마이크로일렉트로닉스 코퍼레이션 (United Microelectronics Corporation, 중국어: 聯華電子公司, 약칭: UMC)사는 중화민국 후원 연구소 ITRI에서 스핀오프하여 1980년에 중화민국의 첫 번째 반도체 회사로 설립되었다. 오늘날 UMC는 팹리스 반도체 회사를 상대로 판매용 파운드리 사업과, 집적회로 웨이퍼 제조기업으로 유명하다. 파운드리 사업에서, UMC는 경쟁사로 TSMC가 있으며 시장 점유율에서 2위를 차지한다.
3. Vanguard International Semiconductor Corporation (VIS) is a Taiwanese specialized IC foundry service provider, founded in December 1994 in Hsinchu Science Park by Morris Chang. In March 1998, VIS became a listed company on the Taiwan Over-The-Counter Stock Exchange (OTC) with the main shareholders TSMC, National Development Fund and other institutional investors.[citation needed]
History[edit]
VIS was working as a subcontractor for TSMC for the manufacturing of logic and mixed signal products, primarily focusing on the production and development of DRAM and other memory IC. In 2000, VIS announced its plan to transform from a DRAM manufacturer into a foundry service provider. As of February 2004, VIS completely terminated its DRAM production and became a pure-play foundry company.
VIS acquired Fab 4 and Fab 5, two lines of 200-mm fab from Winbond Electronics Corp., expanding its production ability. The purchase was finalized in January, 2008.[1]
VIS is sponsored by the Industrial Technology Research Institute.[citation needed]
As of 2018, VIS has a production capacity of approximately 199,000 wafers per month.[2]
VIS purchased GlobalFoundries' Fab 3E located in Tampines, Singapore for $236 million.[3][4] The transfer of ownership occurred on December 31, 2019. This facility manufactures microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) as well as analog/mixed signal chips. It has a production capacity of around 35,000 200-mm wafer starts per month (WSPM).[5]
VIS is a significant supplier to the automotive industry.[6]
